State Senator Erica Harriss has been named a 2025 Prairie State Policy Champion by the Americans for Prosperity Illinois Chapter (AFP-IL), recognizing her leadership on lower taxes, educational freedoms, and policies that make Illinois a stronger, more prosperous state.
“I am deeply honored to be named a Prairie State Policy Champion,” said Senator Harriss. “When I came to Springfield, lowering taxes was my top priority. To be recognized in only my second General Assembly is humbling, but there is still much work to be done to help families and communities across our state.”
Senator Harriss was presented with her award at her Edwardsville District Office. AFP-Illinois State Director Jason Heffley praised her record.
“Senator Harriss is a true advocate for the Metro East, tackling the issues that matter most to her constituents while finding practical ways to save taxpayers money. She has filed multiple taxpayer-friendly bills, including legislation that froze the senior homestead exemption and ensured taxpayers are not responsible for abandoned oil wells,” said Heffley.
