On Tuesday, during the City of Edwardsville’s city council meeting, Senator Harriss had the honor of presenting Official Senate Certificates to four incredibly brave individuals whose swift actions saved lives during an apartment building fire last month. Joined by Police Chief Mike Fillback and Fire Chief Brendan McKee, who also presented Citizen Commendation Awards, they recognized Katy Clark, Nikki McCormick, Eli Brown, and Alexis Young for their heroic efforts.
These four heroes knocked on doors to alert residents of the fire and helped evacuate the building, ensuring that no injuries were reported. Senator Harriss extends her deepest gratitude to them and our first responders for their lifesaving actions that day.
